Apple confirms Leopard delay, blames iPhone problems

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Apple confirms Leopard delay, blames iPhone problems After all those rumors way back when that Leopard would absolutely not be delayed until October it finally has been. And Apple blames the iPhone.

According to Engadget, Apple claims the iPhone is the most advanced mobile device to ever ship and as a result they had to borrow resources away from the Mac OSX team. What, Apple doesn’t have enough to spread the love around? I don’t buy that.

Whatever the case the next version of OSX has been delayed until October and possibly along with it all the new MacBooks, MacBook Pros and any new computer line they wanted to produce. Anyone currently looking to replace a Mac they currently own should probably just hold off until Leopard is released lest you be required to purchase a copy of Leopard. Apple could always grow back their generous bone and offer users who purchase a Tiger based Mac now a discounted or free upgrade to Leopard when it releases. I don’t think either are very likely but if they do it just might boost sales

I don’t know about you but I was really looking forward to picking up my first Mac in June but it looks like that will be on hold until October or whenever the magic beings that are known as Apple decide to release it.

This sounds familiar, reminds me of… something called Vista. However, those of you who are fans of the iPhone might be relieved to find out that it is on schedule. Apple pulled the resources from the OSX team to get it out on time. I think I’d rather have Leopard on time.

The iPhone may be the most advanced mobile device but it’s features are shall we say… somewhat limiting when compared to a BlackBerry. Then again the iPhone is a sleek looking peice of hardware but you trade a lot for it.

Whoa! Let’s not jump to conclusions. Apple has nothing to prove here. Their track record is pretty flawless compared to their bloated Microsoft counterpart. So it’s pushed back a couple months… Now if it gets pushed back three years…yeah, I’ll be scoffing and comparing it to Longhorn… I mean Vista.
