Macs and Slingbox in harmony
By Jonathan Schlaffer
Its official: Slingplayer is now compatible with OS X and more importantly the Slingbox can now stream any content to your Apple TV! If you don’t know what Slingplayer and Slingbox do, working together they allow you to stream content from your PC or Mac to a remote location, and now with Macs that content can be viewed on Apple TV as well.
With the Slingbox connected to your Mac, it is possible to stream cable TV, DVR, DVD content from your home to a Mac while also providing access to Front Row, an Apple TV or an iPod sitting in any dock. In order to run Slingplayer you need Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later and it is compatible with both Intel and PowerPC Macs. Gadgetell has the story.
As you may or may not be aware, the software is free but the Slingbox itself will run you between $130 and $240 depending on model and features you select. PC users have had the advantage of using the Slingbox for some time and now Mac users have the capabilities as well, provided you deem the price tag worth it.
I don’t think you’ll find a better combination for streaming media from your Mac, not that I know of any others because Slingbox is pretty cool, still; it’s not like there are THAT many choices that integrate so well with your shiny precious Mac and Apple TV.

Hey,
You can view your Apple TV content - not view SlingPlayer on your Apple TV. So, now I can stream my entire home music library to my phone no matter where i am.
