Euro 2012 rips off Apple ads

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Euro 2012 rips off Apple ads It seems that the folks behind Euro 2012 couldn’t think of anything original to do so they decided to copy the Apple ads with the same kind of dancing silhouettes and similar music. I watched both and while there are similarities the Euro 2012 ad is just poor compared to what Apple did.

Soccer and it is soccer, none of this football stuff, may be one of the world’s most popular sports but not where I’m from, Football as in REAL Football is where it’s at. But then again, I dislike just about every other sport on the planet, baseball, golf (what’s so great about hitting a ball into a hole) maybe if golf was played with grenades now that would be a sport.

Back to the matter at hand, Apple Poland has already contacted their legal counterparts in the good old US of A and is awaiting a response. In the meantime Apple Poland had no comment; legal departments never have a comment.

If I were Apple, I’d sue the pants off them, just because it’s Soccer not football, it’s not a great sport and no matter how you spin this it is going to turn into a circus and I want to be there because the whole thing is hilarious.

Maybe if the Euro 2012 ad wasn’t so pixilated and the song wasn’t written so poorly done it might have been better, I guess someone figured if it was bad enough, Apple wouldn’t care, just a little heads up, I think Apple DOES care and this is not just going to go away.

You can view both the Apple ad and the Euro 2012 rip-off right here. I also suggest checking out the Fratellis Flathead music video. Not that it has anything to do with this; I just think it’s a cool video.
