MacBook Pro line to boast Santa Rosa, LED Tuesday?
By Triston McIntyre
One of the more frustrating (and yet enjoyable) aspects about following Apple news closer than the lives of our family members is that we generally are forced to wait until an updated product hits the market before we know it has been updated. Though rumors have been rampant, some are predicting the much demanded upgrade to the MacBook Pro line (hopefully including LED displays and Santa Rosa chipsets) will be released this Tuesday.
However, I really think it is too early to see an LED upgrade; that is unless Steve Jobs has been planning his “green” implementation for a while and was more prepared than we thought. Otherwise, completely transitioning to LED displays would most likely take longer than the time that has transgressed since the announcement.
Santa Rosa seems a more feasible expectation of the next upgrade; the chipsets are long overdue for a facelift. Though a switch to Santa Rosa chipsets will increase performance, it isn’t anything to go and sell your current model over; however, new buyers would do well to wait for the new update to hit.
Even if we don’t see an upgrade on Tuesday, it won’t be long yet. Many people are expecting an upgrade to occur sometime this month; if not Tuesday, then perhaps during the WWDC which will commence in a few days.
Save your pennies and tune your browsers to Mac.Blorge.com on Tuesday to find out whether the upgrade hits the market.
