It’s official: iPhone debuts June 29

You can now officially allow your excitement to peak for the first time since we saw the beauty of the iPhone back in January: last night, Apple released 3 iPhone commercials that aired on tv, and those commercials confirmed rumors that the iPhone will hit AT&T and Apple retail locations June 29th.
In a trio of ads, Apple really takes the image of the iPhone to the next level; all highlight the truly fluid and seamless nature of the industry-redefining tool.
In the first ad, entitled, “Never been an iPod,” Apple displays the really creative way the iPhone handles the iPod functions, such as coverflow and the way users can transition between artists and songs, and also displays the horizontal-vertical flip functionality that really is quite seamless and breathtaking.
In the second ad, “Calamari,” Apple really shows off both the iPod and the skill of their marketing team; I have to say, this ad is about as creative and impressive as I’ve ever seen. They show a user watching Pirates of the Caribbean, in which a giant squid (Krakan) attacks a ship; then the narrator says you might come upon a desire to eat calamari, and shows the maps feature.
The user types in “seafood” and it places markers on seafood locations within a certain search radius. Really impressive stuff here. The third ad, “How To,” really summarizes the all-around functionality of the iPhone; if you want to find out how each function works, this is a 30 second synopsis that might require a change of underpants.
In short, you have your launch date, and you have the best quality display of the iPhone’s truly revolutionary technology. For my part, I’m trying to find a loop in my T-mobile contract so I can switch to AT&T. Yeah, it’s that good.
