Turn your iPhone into a really expensive flash drive
Unlike a regular iPod, the iPhone cannot be used as a storage device, which can be kind of annoying, especially if you’re one of those people who bought an iPhone so that you’d only need to carry one gadget.
Fortunately, a solution is now available, with Ecamm releasing iPhoneDrive, which allows you to turn your shiny new iPhone into a really expensive flash drive.
“iPhoneDrive is the first Mac application targeted specifically towards the iPhone, and the only way to use it to store files. We’ve added one more use to an already very useful device,” said Ken Aspeslagh, Ecamm Network’s iPhone specialist.
According to Ecamm, iPhoneDrive’s familiar Mac OS X interface makes it very easy to transfer files between your Mac and your iPhone.
Files can be dragged and dropped between the iPhoneDrive window and your desktop, or alternatively, the iPhoneDrive toolbar can be used to transfer files. This means that your iPhone can be used to backup and transfer data, or be used to transfer data between Macs.
iPhoneDrive costs $9.95, but you can download it for free and try it for seven days free of charge.

I was expecting more from the iPhone, storage included. I have the “M” app from Mercora on my Treo, and with that, I already get my music wirelessly. With that and other features the Treo has, I’m pretty satisfied already. No need for me to switch.

I really don’t care that I can’t use my iPhone to store files. I hardly ever used my iPod to store files… I have a jump drive that works just fine.
