The 4th Generation iMac hits the review circuit
By Sean P. Aune
Reviews are coming in for the fourth iteration of the Apple iMac line, so how’s it standing up?
For those of you sitting on the fence, we’ve gone around the Internet and collected the best bits of several reviews to aid you in your decision making process.
Engadget - While they found the boot up to be speedy and the overall design to be pleasing, they weren’t 100% sold on the display and the keyboard didn’t exactly thrill them.
Ars Technica - To call this review exhaustive would be an understatement. After six pages, it can be summed up as they liked it, but with cons that read more like a wishlist for the next generation as opposed to actual reasons not to purchase it.
C-Net - C-Net reviewed the 20″ model and said that unless you are a gamer or an upgrade enthusiast, there is no reason not to consider it as your next desktop. Overall, it was awarded 8.2 out of 10 and made an Editor’s Choice.
In short? The moment Leoprard comes pre-installed on these, I’ll be purchasing one. I’m only torn about going 20″ or 24″.
