Rumor:Entire iPod line to be refreshed in September?
With the circulating third generation iPod Nano picture gaining momentum as being legitimate, more information is swirling about the entire line being refreshed next month.
AppleInsider is reporting that there will be a media event in mid to late September to introduce an entire new line of Mac OS X based media payers.
The Apple rumor site is also reporting that the video of a new interface that circulated some time ago, and was later pulled by Apple legal, was indeed the new interface for at least one level of players. The feeling is it will be the new Nano system as it seemed to be click wheel controlled.
Most intriguing of all the rumors is yet another comment that the top-tier of players will be making the move to a full-screen touch interface.
Sources in the Far East — where Apple manufacturers its digital music players — have recently vouched for sightings of a “full screen” iPod, which they believe will finally make its debut ahead of this year’s holiday shopping season.
As BLORGE has said repeatedly, we are predicting September 18th for the media event. This is based purely on speculation a previous track record of Apple events, but as the date approaches, we are gaining more confidence that this will indeed be when the new iPods will see the light of day.
