iPod Touch: Compatibility guide for previous generation iPod accessories
So you’ve got yourself a brand new iPod Touch and you need an iPod accessory to do this or that but you’re having a hard time finding accessories made for the iPod Touch. It happens with new iPod models, and that’s why there’s lists like the Touch accessories compatibility list.
The good folks over at iPod Touch fans have compiled a growing list of previous generation accessories that work with the iPod Touch. Items on the list include Bluetooth adapters, car stereo head units, FM radio transmitters, and others.
For example, the Apple Universal iPod Dock partially works. It works for audio but not video; however, the Apple iPod HiFi Speakers work perfectly.
Those looking for a Bluetooth adapter will find that the Scoche Bluetooth Adapter for iPod works as intended, and those looking for a compatible head unit will find that Alpine units tend to work. The single JVC head unit doesn’t work.
The list can be found here, and you can add any accessory to the list and label it as “Working”, “Partially Working”, or “Not Working.” Those who visit the site are encouraged to add more items to the list as it would help everyone to do so.
