iPod Touch/iPhone web app: SeeqPod, search and listen to music over Wi-Fi
By Danny Mendez
I stumbled upon a very interesting web app while setting up a MockDock on my iPod Touch. It’s called SeeqPod.
SeeqPod lets you search or browse for countless artists, and, once you find a suitable song, you can listen to it right there even if you don’t have it on your iPod/iPhone.
I’ve found everything from Atreyu to NWA, Guns N’ Roses to Taking Back Sunday, and DJ Tiesto to Immortal Technique. I didn’t expect much after clicking on an artist, but there are a lot of songs to choose from. Granted, the songs aren’t hosted on the site, but rather the site links to QT compatible song files all over the Internet.
I suggest you use Wi-Fi to listen to the music, but, if necessary for all you iPhone users, EDGE is (unfortunately) always there should the need arise.
It’s certainly not as convenient as listening to the music you have on your iPod/iPhone, but, if you’re itching for something you don’t have on your device, there’s a good chance it will be on SeeqPod.
You can access SeeqPod by heading to www.seeqpod.com/iphone or, and I recommend this, you find a service like MockDock, which provides a customizable “homepage” that will host shortcuts to all your favorite web apps. Just add SeeqPod to your web apps list in MockDock.
