iPhone update adds MP3 and WAV email attachment support

iPhone update adds MP3 and WAV email attachment supportApparently, today’s iPhone update isn’t all bad. Users are reporting unannounced (good) changes in their handsets despite the disabling of hacks (for now).

One of the first discoveries comes from The Boy Genius, who reports that the iPhone can now play MP3 and WAV files attached to emails.

As great as this sounds, one commenter, Jeff, mocks the new feature, which is standard on many other phones, “Sounds like somthing every other phone has had since it was released.”

If you plan on “upgrading” your iPhone with the firmware update but hacked your device to hell like a good consumer should be able, I would advise against it.

The update is disabling any and all hacks as well as relocking your iPhone to the AT&T network. Rest assured, hackers around the net are working to beat Apple at their own game again, but, until they find a way, hold off on upgrading your hacked device.

Otherwise, if you like your iPhone in its stock state, enjoy the update, and, if you’ve noticed anything good come out of this update, let us know.
