Is The iPhone Set to Go Extreme?
Is there a new iPhone lurking on the horizon? And is Apple crazy enough to slap the over-used moniker of “Extreme” on to it?
9to5Mac is reporting that the intrepid folks over at MacPrime, a Swiss Mac rumor site, has stumbled across coding in the Apple site for feedback on an item named “iPhone Extreme”.
This is the first mention of such a product, especially by this name, but we also know that Apple does like the word “Extreme” on product names as evidenced by the AirPort Extreme.
It is not difficult to imagine this would be a 16GB iteration of the iPhone that, hopefully, could also include the long-awaited 3G support.
With Macworld coming up in January, and the 2007 conference being where the iPhone was introduced, it’s not hard to imagine that there would be a product update at the same event this year. Will this become a new trend, iPhone updates in January, iPod refreshes in September?
At this point everything here is speculation, but isn’t that what the Mac world thrives on?
