New Leopard-equipped MacBooks due Tuesday?
By Triston McIntyre
Though rumors surrounding a new MacBook have been floating around the internet waves, there is evidence that tomorrow might be the day that new MacBook surfaces, toting Leopard in all of its glory.
Leopard’s innards reveal support for Intel’s latest integrated graphics chip, the X3100. Currently, the MacBook totes the GMA950. If, in fact, a new MacBook surfaces, that would mean it would be equipped with the Santa Rosa chipset.
This story comes from Mac Rumors; they base their call of tomorrow’s new MacBook release on the speculations of Mac site ThinkSecret, who called for the release of an updated MacBook sometime in mid-November.
Also expected for an update (or at least greatly desired) would be a move to the old aluminum casing that now protects the MacBook Pro lineup. That would greatly increase sturdiness; a new chipset and graphics chip would, obviously, greatly increase performance.
Though minor updates have been made to the MacBook within the year, it has been over a year since the whole machine was revisited and dolled up.
If in fact a new MacBook release is planned for tomorrow, hope to see an upgraded chipset and that familiar brushed aluminum look protecting the innards of Apple’s moderately-priced consumer mobile unit.

Aluminum? Hope not. The reason I love the macbook so much is because it comes in a very sexy black casing. Switching from black to aluminum would be a major downgrade
