New malware targets Mac porn enthusiasts

By Triston McIntyre

1Are you a fan of casually downloading a skin flick or two for your viewing pleasure? If you use a Mac, you need to be aware a new Trojan horse, designed specifically for Macs, is looking to cause you a world of pop-up pain.

The Trojan, known as OSX.RSPlug.A, might lead users to believe it is a new plugin to aid in the viewing of downloaded video content; but be forwarned, it will most assuredly not do that.

In fact, it will go in and change your DNS settings to reroute your internet traffic to porn sites, according to CNET. Obviously, to let the dirty trojan go to work you’d need to save it, install it, etc. I would highly recommend not doing that, because even if you install it, it won’t let you watch that video clip you so dearly want to watch.

Tiger’s software won’t alert you to a change in your DNS settings, but Leopard will. Hopefully you aren’t going to be dumb enough to read this article and still save the file.
