iPhone: Vodafone attacks T-Mobile Germany
Vodafone, perhaps jealous over T-Mobile’s grab at iPhone exclusivity in Germany, just hit the iPhone service provider with a restraining order.
Vodafone isn’t trying to stop T-Mobile Germany from selling and providing wireless service to the iPhone, but it’s not happy with the competitor’s latest business practices. According to Mac Life, Vodafone has a problem with the mandatory, two year contract required by T-Mobile and Apple for the iPhone.
Not happy with letting loads of customers get trapped into T-Mobile’s service for two years, Vodafone took legal action against T-Mobile. Attempting to come of as the good guy in the feud, Vodafone wants the iPhone to be available to buyers without a mandatory calling plan.
It’s funny to hear that Vodafone’s fighting for a more "open" wireless world even though the company owns one of the most locked down networks in the world, Verizon Wireless in the United States.
At least you get great (expensive) service with Verizon, right? That’s what I used to tell myself, and then I met the Ocean.
