Free Mac Sunday, batch rename iTunes files with TvTaggr

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Untitled-2 I’m sure there are several utilities out there that allow you to batch rename files but how many of them look similar to iTunes or have that “just so” functionality that iTunes users enjoy. Look no further than TvTaggr.

TvTaggr is a free program (for now) that allows you to edit metadata on a single file or perform changes to a batch of files. According to the developer it works with standard mp4 files and m4v files downloaded from iTunes.

With that out of the way, TvTaggr is simply a GUI front for Atomic Parsley which is also available in a Windows version but sadly, Atomic Parsley is a simple command line program and would probably be horrible (to use) for this type of work, I know I wouldn’t be able to stand it.

TvTaggr is available for Leopard (OSX 10.5) and runs on PowerPC or Intel processors. I’m sure there must be something similar for Windows users but that will require some more digging. It would be nice if the developer of TvTaggr would, at some point, provide a Windows version.

It’s only for movies, not music. Sadly.
