Outfit your iMac with a touchscreen

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Outfit your iMac with a touchscreen What could possibly be better than using a state of the art iMac fresh from the Apple Store?  How about an iMac equipped with a touchscreen.  This will probably be the best thing until Steve Jobs releases a Mac tablet but it will cost you a pretty penny.

Trolltouch, the company behind these modifications will install a touchscreen on your 20-inch or 24-inch iMac for $1099 and $1599, respectively, if you already own the iMac.  Or, you can buy one directly from them already modified which will run $2499 for a base 20-inch model and up to $3899 for the 2.8GHz 24-inch model.

Apparently, the models from Trolltouch are available immediately but you’ll have to wait a few days if you want to send your existing iMac to them for the modification.

From this point, it’s only a matter of time before Apple incorporations touch screens (preferably of the multitouch kind) in more of its products.
