New metal MacBooks floating around Cupertino?

By Triston McIntyre

New metal MacBooks floating around Cupertino?MacWorld is getting closer, and the excitement is mounting over Apple’s mysterious new portable unit; though they haven’t been spotted in the wild yet, per se, word has it that the new MacBooks are floating around the testing labs of Cupertino…oh, to be a fly on the wall of those sacred laboratories!

AppleInsider reports that a noticeably thinner, but otherwise similar MacBook-like unit has been drifting around the labs in Cupertino for a while now. The unit, presumed to be the new “ultra-portable” that everyone can’t stop talking about, is boasting the brushed metal or “gunmetal” casing.

AppleInsider did note that Apple has many times tested multiple products at once in the labs, and this unit might not be the ultra-portable everyone is whispering about; Apple is due to update the MacBook line soon as it is. Keep your eyes and ears peeled, because we’ll be working hard to get you that sneak peek on Apple’s new portable unit!
