Third-party brings GPS to the iPhone

By Sean P. Aune

Third-party brings GPS to the iPhone There aren’t many people who would argue over the iPhone being a “sexy” device, but sometimes third-party manufacturers seem to forget that.

While most people would like to add GPS to their iPhone, it would seem the new device from  Part Foundry would be the last choice for anyone who enjoys the slick lines of their favorite gadget.

gps-iphone_1_small Admittedly, the device is currently only a prototype, but the rendering for the final product, pictured to the right, doesn’t show a whole of difference.  It is still going to be a giant, bulky, eye-sore sticking out of your phone.

Sure, it’s about functionality, but if you’ve spent as much as an iPhone costs, wouldn’t you like your add-ons to at least look like they match?

If you’re aching for the GPS love, you can order the device now through the Part Foundry site for $89.00.

Wow. GPS? That’s amazing. You could of course just buy a Nokia N95 8gb with GPS built in but then you wouldn’t look as cool to all of your freinds.
