Apple handily shuts down popular rumor site Think Secret

By Triston McIntyre

Apple handily shuts down popular rumor site Think SecretThe Mac community sheds a large group tear for the end of one of our favorite rumor sites, Think Secret. Think Secret has announced it has reached a settlement with Apple, and will no longer be posting those titillating pieces of Apple info.

Think Secret’s creator Nick Ciarelli announced he and Apple have reached an amicable settlement that appeals to both himself and Apple; Apple had brought a suit against Think Secret almost 3 years ago regarding some insider information that made its way to the rumor site.

As a final kick to the Apple’s groin, Ciarelli announced, “[I] will now be able to move forward with my college studies and broader journalistic pursuits. ” Good to know leaking insider information about the almighty Apple was only a distracting pastime for a focused college kid.

Apparently Ciarelli wasn’t forced to reveal his sources; there’s more than a slight chance that he could move forward on a different site with the exact same types of information he’s used to leaking now.

We wish him the best; we’d wish him better if he’d start up a new site!
