iPod Touch interface comes to 5G and 5.5G iPods

By Jonathan Schlaffer

iPod Touch interface comes to 5G and 5.5G iPod Classic Instead of buying an iPod Touch which has tons of awesome features, maybe you opted for more storage instead of said cool features and are thinking, “gee, this interface is lame, I wish it had the iPod Touch interface.”  Well, if you are, here is how you can get the iPod Touch interface on your 5G and 5.5G iPod Classics.  The mod will not brick your iPod if it fails but if it does, you will have to restore and try again.

iPodWizard has instructions on how to perform the mod and the files required to perform it.  Although the mod is listed as being in version 1.0, it still has a few bugs that need to be worked out but they are minor compared to the “cool factor” that this will bring to your iPod Classic.

It is imperative that you read the instructions BEFORE proceeding.  Of course, it will not give you the advantage of a touch screen or multitouch, it just makes it look better.

This is a nice hack for those of you that opted for the iPod Classic but is no substitute for the iPod Touch, not by a long shot.
