iPhone firmware version 1.1.3 coming soon

December 30, 2007

iPhone firmware version 1.1.3 coming soon That’s right, Apple will be releasing updated firmware for the iPhone very soon and there are a few surprises in store.  In all likelihood, the iPod Touch will receive new firmware shortly after the iPhone is updated.

If other sites are to be believed then it appears this new firmware brings quite a few new features to the table.

Gear Live believes it has found many of the new features which include:

The ability to SMS message more than one person during a single session

Pinpoint your location using Google Maps and cell tower triangulation

Drag and drop app icons to the main screen

Pagination support has been added with the ability to add web page bookmarks to the main screen

It should also be noted that if you have used any firmware hacks on your iPhone, expect the new firmware to cause problems and/or brick your iPhone.

VERY IMPORTANT: in February of 2008 apple will be releasing a software development kit for the iPod touch/iPhone that will ALLOW YOU TO INSTALL 3RD PARTY APPLICATIONS LEGALLY THROUGH APPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not much is known yet but I would say its best to keep updating your firmware instead of keeping with older versions to keep your AppSnapp/Nullriver apps program.
