MacBook-Air.jpgAmazon is having a sale on some of their Apple computers. The recently unveiled MacBook Air is on sale, and it happens to be one of their electronic best sellers ranking at #17. Currently you can purchase the MacBook Air at Amazon for $1744.They’ve knocked off $5 from the list price, and they are also including a $50 rebate offer. Apple is currently offering the same computer for $1799. If you can’t take advantage of Apple’s education or employee discount, and you aren’t going to purchase the Apple Care, Amazon would be a great option.

Gene technology come to Apple thanks to GenecoIf you’re a science junkie and a Mac user, you’ve watched enviously as your friends and colleagues used biotechnology software on their PCs. Now you don’t have to look from afar anymore, as companies like GeneGo are bringing gene technology and bio applications to the Mac (and to Linux users as well).

Apple announces the updated MacBook and the MacBook Pro. The multi-touch trackpad is now featured on the MacBook Pro.

MacBook-Pro.pngWell it’s about time! Apple has finally updated the MacBook Pro. The MacBook has also received an update. The cases, for both models, have remained the same. The MacBook and the MacBook Pro feature the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, larger hard drives (up to 300GB) and 2GB of memory standard in most models.

All Apple stores are closed. Come on Apple don’t disappoint, give us the updated MacBook Pro.

When all the online Apple stores are closed it means a major announcement is in the works. Although some Apple stores have been closed on the past three Tuesdays many online stores, from other countries, were open for business.

MacBook-Pro-1.jpgApple Insider was able to confirm that three Apple formatted part numbers MB402LL/A, MB403LL/A, and MB404LL/A have materialized in inventory management systems of both Apple and one of its resellers Best Buy. The part numbers, for future MacBook Pro models, also included pricing that matches current prices offered by Apple, $1999.00, $2499.00 and $2799.00. That’s good news for those looking to update their Mac or switch over to a new Mac since you won’t be paying a higher price.

Neverwinter-Knights-2.jpgNeverwinter Nights 2 has gone gold. There’s no surprise there. Neverwinter Nights 2 is a computer role playing game. It’s the sequel to BioWare’s Neverwinter Nights. Neverwinter Nights was based on the highly successful Dungeons and Dragons role playing game. Aspyr announced that they will begin shipping Neverwinter Nights 2 on February 26, 2008.

iTunes.jpgApple has released iTunes 7.6.1 through its software update utility. If you check out the notes that accompany the software update, you will note that several bugs were fixed including compatibility with Apple TV software version 2.0. Apple recently added new features to iTunes. You can now rent and download your favorite movies onto your computer or Apple TV. You’re also able to rent movies up to 720HD complete with surround sound on your Apple TV.

Apple-XSan-2.pngApple quietly discontinued their XServe Raid boxes and replaced them with third party RAID storage hardware, Promise VTrac E-Class RAID subsystems from Promise Technology. The original Xsan was released in January 2005 and has done an excellent job of powering several high powered SANs. The Xsan has received a major upgrade. Enter the Xsan 2. Xsan 2 is a major transformation of its storage area network (SAN) file system.

A new game is being developed for the Mac and Windows operating system. The plans were recently announced by Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast. Wizards of the Coast have brought hobby gaming systems like Dungeons and Dragons and Star Wars TCG. Mind Control Software will be developing the new title.
