Apple releases iPhoto 7.1.2, ProKit 4.5, and Braille Display 1.0 update

Apple (AAPL) Releases iPhoto 7.1.2, ProKit 4.5, and Braille Display 1.0 update Apple has released two new iPhone and iPod touch models. It also released updates for three software applications.

iPhoto 7.1.2 - 14.2MB: iPhoto is an excellent photo managing application. It includes powerful editing tools. You can even create your own photo books and calenders. This update addresses certain issues that were caused when publishing pictures to .Mac Web Gallery. It fixes a number of minor issues, and improves overall stability.

Prokit 4.5 - 22.4MB: Final Cut, Logic, and Aperture are applications designed for the professional. Final Cut is an excellent choice for filmmakers and film editors. Logic gives you all the tools you need to create, edit, and perform your own music. Aperture is an all in one post production software for serious photographers.

Braille Display 1.0 - 448kb: One of the innovate application to make its way into the Mac OS X v10.5 is a powerful screen reading application called VoiceOver. This application was created for the blind, those who have poor vision, or learning difficulties. Voice Over supports a variety of Braille displays, when the display is connected to your computer, VoiceOver automatically recognizes it and sends information about what is being displayed on your computer. This update adds support in Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard for additional braille displays.

Software updates are done automatically on a Mac. However, if you don’t want automatic updates you can disable this feature.

  • Click on the Apple icon
  • Click on Software update
  • From the Software Update menu select “Preferences”
  • Uncheck the “Check for updates” checkbox
