Feral interactive, leading Macintosh game developer has announced that Tomb Raider: Anniversary is now available for the Mac. It’s available for immediate release.
The Tomb Raider series follows the pixelated beauty, Lara Craft, thrill seeker and British archaeologist. Mystery, intricate puzzles, harrowing escapes, and priceless treasure is some of the things you will encounter during Lara Croft’s globetrotting escapades.
“The adventure begins when Lara is hired by a powerful syndicate to retrieve a mythical object called the Scion. As Lara searches ancient tombs and isolated worlds that have lain undisturbed for thousands of years, she discovers that she is not alone. Not only has she awoken their fearsome guardians but there are others desperate to learn the Scion’s dark secrets.”
If you want to try the game before you purchase your in luck MacGameFiles lets you download a demo Tomb Raider: Anniversary. The download is 273 MB in this demo; you will be able to play through part of the Lost Valley level in Peru. I originally started playing the Tomb Raider series on my desktop PC when it first hit the scene. I’ll be sure to download and play this on my MacBook Pro.

Tomb Raider first hit the scene in 1996 and it has been an extremely popular series. The success of Tomb Raider has inspired a pair of movies: Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. Angelina Jolie played the role of Lara Craft in both movies. I’ve been a fan of the Tomb Raider game series so I’ll be sure to download the demo.

I have an Intel iMac running OSX 10.5.6, 2.4 ghz dual core, 4g ram.
My Tomb Raider Anniversary DVD will install but NOT run. I get the following message:
“Failed to open BIGFILES – Resources are missing in the game
Please install the game properly”
The files are there, probably just a pointer to them is hosed…
I can run directly off the DVD but it would sure be nice if the install worked…
