Magic: The Gathering franchise is developing a new game for Mac

By Opal Tribble

Wizards-of-the-Coast.jpgIf you’re a fan of Magic: The Gathering and a Mac gamer you’ll soon be able to purchase a new game from Magic: The Gathering franchise. A new game is being developed for the Mac and Windows operating system. The plans were recently announced by Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast. Wizards of the Coast have brought hobby gaming systems like Dungeons and Dragons and Star Wars TCG. Mind Control Software will be developing the new title.

“We’re excited to bring the Magic brand to new platforms and give our fans new ways to experience this great property,” said Jared Gustafson, Brand Director for Magic: The Gathering at Wizards of the Coast. “It’s partnerships like these that will advance the strategy games category and transform it to meet the needs and desires of today’s digital gamers.”

Magic: The Gathering was introduced in 1993. It’s a very popular game. In the game, you play a powerful wizard who has the ability to summon creatures that will fight on your behalf. The game allows players to collect and trade virtual cards. Magic: The Gathering players are able to get assistance from mentors, compete for daily prizes, and select opponents based on their skill level.

Wizards of the Coast did not give any further information about the new title so we are left guessing as to how the game will look and how it will be played. The company said that they will be releasing more details about the game at a later date.
