Apple: Is Time Capsule shipping this week? It’s featured in this week’s Best Buy flyer.
If you’ve been waiting for the release of Time Capsule it looks as though your wait is almost over. Best Buy is featuring Time Capsule in this week flyer. Apple had stated on their website that the Time Capsule would be released sometime in February.

Built for Time Machine.
“Time Capsule includes a wireless 500GB or 1TB hard drive1 designed to work with Time Machine in Mac OS X Leopard. Just set Time Capsule as the designated backup drive for Time Machine, and that’s it. Depending on how much data you have, your initial backup with Time Capsule could take overnight or longer. After it completes, only changed files are backed up — automatically, wirelessly, and in the background. So you never have to worry about backing up again.”
Room for it all.
“Time Capsule is your one place for backing up everything. Its massive 500GB or 1TB server-grade hard drive gives you all the capacity and safety you need. So whether you have 250 songs or 250,000 songs to back up, room is the last thing you’ll run out of. And considering all that storage and protection come packaged in a high-speed Wi-Fi base station starting at $299, data isn’t the only thing you’re saving.”
Time Capsule provides a wireless backup for your Mac computers and is available in 500GB and 1TB models. Time Capsule is designed to work with the Time Machine which is available in Mac OS X Leopard. If you’ve been looking at the Time Capsule and haven’t upgraded to Leopard you’ll have to order that also in order for it to work.
When will Apple announce that Time Capsule is ready for shipment? I imagine we’ll see an announcement in Tuesday’s update. If you’ve been following MAC.BLORGE.com you will notice the past three Tuesdays Apple has added something new to the Apple store. Last week we the prices were reduced on the iPod Shuffle and Apple also release Xsan 2, The week before the big announcement was Aperture 2, and the first week we saw double the memory added to the iPhone and the iPod touch Will we see the iPhone SDK? Steve Jobs said.
“Let me just say it: We want native third party applications on the iPhone, and we plan to have an SDK in developers’ hands in February. We are excited about creating a vibrant third party developer community around the iPhone and enabling hundreds of new applications for our users.”
However, many speculate whether the iPhone SDK will be released this month. Many believe it will be held of until next month. Perhaps we’ll see the much anticipated MacBook Pro? The MacBook Pro line hasn’t received a real update since June 2007.
What will the big announcement for Tuesday be? Personally I’m hoping for an updated MacBook Pro.
