iTunes offering credits for Season Pass users
If you are an iTunes Season Pass user, you know how the strike affected you – you didn’t get your subscription filled while the shows were off the air. Since users of Season Pass pay for it upfront, Apple decided to show them some love. This is a good PR move on Apple’s part.
Technically, Apple doesn’t have to do a thing as far as refunding money for new television shows that didn’t air over the course of the strike. After all, they aren’t part of the studio group or the writers group. Apple decided to extend the olive branch of two free episodes.
This means if you bought a show via Season Pass on iTunes and did not receive the complete season due to the strike, you can get two episodes free when the show returns to the air. If your show is one of the few who will not be finishing there season, you will be credited for lost remaining episodes instead of given two free.
The two free episodes do not have to be tied to your show. You can use them for any video content on the Apple site. Apple iTunes users should receive an email from Apple about the credit options they have. If you don’t receive your email you can contact Apple through the iTunes store to ask about it.
