Apple rolls out updates, FrontRow 2.1.3, iTunes 7.6.2 and QuickTime 7.4.5
By Opal Tribble
Apple has recently updated FrontRow, iTunes, and Quicktime. If you use these services you were most likely greeted with a message asking if you wanted these software packages. What do these updates address?
FrontRow 2.1.3 download is 20.5MB reading the notes it simply states that it improves the compatibility with iTunes 7..6.2.
iTunes 7.6.2 download is 45MB. If you log onto the support page, the message states that provide bug fixes to improve stability and performance. The file size is 45MB.
QuickTime 7.4.5 is recommended for all users of Leopard, Panther, and Tiger. The download for Leopard is 56MB. The download for Panther is 52MB. The download for Tiger is 53MB. Reading the information listed on the QuickTime 7.4.5 support page it states that this update enhances reliability, improve compatibility with third-party applications, and address security issues.
You won’t find too much information about the fixes besides that on the Apple support page. I do wish Apple more information about these updates. I’ve downloaded the update on my MacBook Pro and so far I haven’t seen any changes. If you’ve downloaded the updates and noticed some changes please let us know.

Opal…
Just checking in on ya since I hadn’t seen anything posted on your blogs in quite a while — was a bit concerned, but glad to see that you posted here today. I’m sure you’re very busy as usual.
Since last time I commented on one of your posts, we’ve actually gone a little bit Apple. With going back to work as a contractor, we splurged a little bit and got an 8GB Nano for each of us and have bought 50 or 60 songs on iTunes to mix with the music library we already had… still have about 3 GB free on each Nano for more.

Hey Mike,
Yes it’s been a while. I should be posting on my personal blogs within the next few weeks. I’m starting to make my rounds posting on my buddies blogs so I’ll be visiting you very soon.
I gradually got into buying Apple products a few years ago. Interestingly enough I never used iTunes until I purchased an iPod a few months after I bought my 17″ MacBook Pro. The only reason why I purchased the iPod was because the mp3 player I was using finally broke. I had heard so many great things about the iPod that I decided to fork over the money and purchase it. That’s how I started using iTunes.
