Apple releases a number of firmware updates to increase stability of Mac computers

Apple has released a number of firmware updates for several of its Mac computers; MacBook, MacBook Air, and the MacBook Pro. Along with these updates, Intel based Macs also received an update along with the two keyboards the aluminum keyboard and the aluminum wireless keyboard. The updates were released to increase the stability of your Mac computer.
MacBook Air EFI Firmware Update 1.0
This download is 2.3MB and fixes several updates to improve the stability of the MacBook Air.
Firmware Restoration CD 1.6
This download is 30MB and is for Intel based Macs. This update isn’t needed by all Intel Mac users just those who are have had an interrupted or unsuccessful update. This download will set some of your computer preferences to the default setting.
MacBook EFI Firmware Update 1.2
This download is 1.8MB and fixes several issues to improve the stability of your MacBook computer.
MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.5
This download is 3.1MB and fixes several issues to improve the stability of your MacBook Pro.
iMac EFI Firmware Update 1.3
This download is 1.6MB and fixes several issues to improve the stability of your iMac.
Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0
This download is 1.5MB an addresses a problem with the aluminum keyboard and the aluminum wireless keyboard some users had keys repeat unexpectedly while typing. This update also addresses other issues although Apple did not elaborate on their support page. You will need to have Mac OS X 10.5.2 before installing this update.
As noted above most of the firmware updates main purpose was to fix issues to improve stability. However, we don’t know what the issues were. If you are looking for an explanation of all the issues addressed you won’t find that on the Apple support pages. It’s a feature that many would wish they would add.
