Apple updates software update tool for Windows users

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Apple updates software update tool for Windows usersAfter Apple was accused of forcing its software on Windows users, it has made some minor changes to the way its software update tool operates under that operating system.

Previously, Windows users that installed Apple software would and still do get the Apple software update tool installed automatically but the company has made changes to the way the tool works now.  Rather than recieve updates for all Apple software which would include software that is not currently installed; it has now been split into two sections.

The first section displays updates for software currently installed, iTunes, for example which would be selected for installation automatically and the other section would show software that is not currently installed but is still selected for installaton by default.

Well, it’s a minor change but it is a change.  Now it needs to change it so that Safari or any other Apple software that is currently not installed to be unchecked for installation by default.

Maybe one day Apple will make it software as good for Windows users as it does for Mac users or maybe that’s just the stuff dreams are made of.  But, there’s nothing wrong with a dream, now is there?
