Fortune 500 reveals the top 20 most profitable tech companies; Apple ranks number eight

apple.jpegFortune 500 has ranked Apple in the top 20 most profitable tech companies. Apple is currently sitting in the number eighth position. If you check out the top ten list, you will notice that Apple received the highest increase in its profits soaring to 76%.

According to Fortune 500

“The introduction of the instantly iconic iPhone and record sales of Mac computers sent Apple’s profits soaring 76% to $3.5 billion on revenues of $24 billion.”

Who were the top seven companies? In the seventh spot was Google, followed by Oracle, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco Systems, and Microsoft is currently sitting firmly in the number one position making 14.1 billion in profits last year.

Overall Apple ranked at number 103 out of 1000 companies previously they were ranked 121. Apple has received a lot of recognition lately Fortune 500, Apple ranked number one as the most admired company overall. Earlier this year Apple became number one music retailer in the USA.

Several analysts are saying that Mac sales will continue to climb throughout the year. The MacBook and the MacBook Pro recently received a refresh. We also saw a new product added the MacBook Air. Rumors have been swirling about an updated MacBook featuring an aluminum casing. Many believe that it will also feature a multi-touch trackpad, and many people like myself are waiting for a major upgrade to the MacBook Pro line.

Apple is continually offering products that consumers want and if they continue the sales will continue to increase.
