Future versions of MacBook Air may do almost everything its bigger brothers do
By Jonathan Schlaffer
The MacBook Air is not a great laptop in its current version; future versions of the MacBook Air may be better. The current MacBook Air lacks processing power, serious graphics, optical drive, connectivity options and so on and so forth but this has been mentioned time and time again by sites over the whole Internet. But, what about future versions of the MacBook Air?
That’s where improvements may start to happen. Processors could begin to match that of the MacBook or MacBook Pro, memory may become upgradeable and who knows, Apple may even offer a version with an optical drive. One thing it will have to do is offer more connective options; more USB ports, etc.
TechTree fully expects the MacBook Air to grow and mature with time just like the iPod Nano did. But, an iPod Nano doesn’t need an optical drive or four USB ports either.
There are a few designs from the MacBook Air that should come to the other lines, a rubber bumper around the radius of the display and the black chicklet keyboard.
I do hope that the MacBook Air improves with time because I wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot poll in is current configuration. Then again, I realize it wasn’t designed to cater to every need but it’s still a very limiting design unless you look at it through Steve Jobs’ “reality distortion field.”
