BBC America content now available at the iTunes music store

BBC-America.jpgIf you recently logged onto iTunes you might have noticed a new addition to the TV shows that are offered. BBC America & iTunes has finally hooked up, and some of the BBC America shows are now available for purchase via iTunes.

BBC America, for those who don’t know, is an American television network. It is owned and operated by BBC Worldwide. BBC America went live on March 29, 1998. It’s available to cable and satellite subscribers.

Beth Clearfield, vice-president of digital media and world development, BBC America said…

“BBC is delighted to provide US audiences with the unique ability to purchase and download select award-winning BBC AMERICA programming on the iTunes Store,”

“As the first UK broadcaster available in the US, BBC is leveraging its trusted international brand in entertainment to provide our audiences with a first-rate digital experience.”

What shows are featured?

  1. Robin Hood – Series 1 and 2
  2. Little Britain- Series 3
  3. Torchwood – Series 2
  4. Torchwood is a show I occasionally watch. I was really hoping to see Dr. Who in the lineup, but I imagine in time it will make an appearance.

If you enjoy podcasts, like myself, you can also check out the BBC America free podcasts I listened to the weekly podcast with Kevin Weeks. He speaks on a variety of topics and also has exclusive interviews with British stars.

You don’t have iTunes? No problem. iTunes is a free software application and is compatible with Mac and Windows you can download it by logging onto the Apple iTunes website.

The price for each episode is $1.99. For those who need more than one episode you do have the option to purchase the entire season. Of course, the price will vary depending on the show you select. Log on, download, and enjoy!
