Apple, the iPhone, and fanboys mocked in Grand Theft Auto IV
By Dave Parrack
Grand Theft Auto was recently released for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and has sold in huge quantities. The game itself is massive, and includes an inordinate amount of secrets and Easter eggs. Once of these little extras sees Apple, Apple fans, the Mac, and the iPhone all mocked quite spectacularly.
Apple fans are going to hate this, but as a gamer, and Rockstar fan, I happen to love it. The Easter egg, uncovered by Dylan Unutmaz, who uploaded the images below to his Flickr page, takes the form of a fake Apple page on the screen of one of the in-game Internet cafe computers.
Dylan sent a link to the images to TUAW, the unofficial Apple Weblog, who obviously reposted them, and thankfully, took the parody the way it was intended.

The first image, as seen above, mocks Apple, now renamed Fruit, by referring to the company’s products as simple, minimalist and overpriced. I’d agree with those sentiments. Then the attention is turned on to Apple fanboys, with a line which will surely go down in history - “Think Fruit. Think. You are not thinking hard enough. Maybe you are a To$$er.”
The millions of iPhone users out there haven’t been forgotten either, as the image below proves.

No longer known as the Apple iPhone, the product becomes the IFruit Phone. And what are the makers thoughts on the innovative, and user-friendly piece of kit that has sold in huge numbers since it’s release last Summer? “No buttons. No reception. No storage capacity. All ego.” That just about says it all really.
I know some Apple fans are going to hate this virtual mocking of their beloved, the products it produces, and even them themselves, but come on, at least admit that it’s funny!

“To$$er” is a reference to Windows users. In the GTA series Fruit is Mac and TOS is Microsoft (presumably from DOS).

Hehehe… That’s funny! Mac fanboys always kinda creeped me out…. or any other fanboys for that matter.
