Sex and the City: The Movie; Explore Carrie’s Bradshaw’s MacBook Pro
Apple marketing has made its way into Sex & The City: The Movie. Logging onto its website you’ll notice an interesting feature added to its website.
Until recently I had watched only two of the Sex and the City shows. When I wrote about HBO shows coming to the iTunes music store. I admit I was curious. I bought a few episodes, logged onto the Sex & The City: The Movie website and noticed that they had added a section where you can explore Carrie Bradshaw’s desktop.
Why would you want to explore her MacBook Pro? Well if you are a fan of the show, it gives you the opportunity to receive one of the fifty official movie posters available. It will also unlock exclusive content. You have to solve the questions given to you by the girls. I logged on to try it out. It makes the use of some of the Macs features. For example you’ll be chatting with Charlotte via iChat. I did notice that Carrie doesn’t use Apple Safari her web browser of choice is Camino. Camino is a Mac OS X only web browser. It’s something I use also.
Carrie Bradshaw is definitely a Mac girl. As style conscious as she was I’m not surprised. Most of the episodes began and ended with her working on her Mac. That is something I can relate to most of my days began and end with me working on my 17″ MacBook Pro. Carrie wasn’t the only Mac girl; Charlotte sported an iBook, Sam’s office used several Macs also. I’ll be curious to see what other Macs will be seen in the movie. I imagine they will all have upgraded their Macs. Perhaps we’ll see one of them with a MacBook Air?
Sex and the City was an extremely popular series dealing primarily with women in society. It also focused on social relevant issues. It is a winner of multiple Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. The show ran on HBO for six seasons from 1998 – 2004. Having stylist Patricia Field, celebrated stylist, made it one of the most important television shows for fashion and its industry. Sex and the City: The Movie is supposed to pick up right where the series ended.
