The rumor that never dies; Will we ever see an Apple Mac Tablet?
Rumors about Mac tablet are nothing new. We’ve heard them off and on over the years but we still we haven’t seen a Mac tablet much to the disappointment of many.
It hasn’t stopped people from talking about the possibilities of a Mac tablet. Jason D. O’ Grady of ZDNet claims we should see an 12 or 13 inch Mac tablet this fall. Naturally the current version of MAC OS X featured. A slot loading super drive like the ones seen on the MacBook and MacBook Pro would also be included along with an iPhone GPS type chip. don’t forget handwritten technology has been built into the MAC OS X since 10.2 (Jaguar).

Several Apple patents have been filed for tablet type devices since 1995 which have helped fuel the speculation. Some of the Apple patents included pictures like the one above. This picture is from US Design Patent No. D504,899.
Rumors increased when Steve Jobs talked about an Apple PDA at the All Things Digital Conference in 2004. Many people started thinking about expectantly waited for a Mac tablet. It never arrived however, we did get the iPhone in 2007 and some thought he was referring to this; however, others still longed for a Mac tablet. PDA type devices aren’t new to Apple. Apple created and marketed the Newton, an early PDA, from 1993 – 1998. The official name was “message pad” Newton refers to the operating system it used, Newton OS.
Apple continually changes how we approach computing so adding a Apple Mac Tablet to their Mac line does not seem far fetched it’s just a question of when we’ll see it released.
