Apple rolls out Mac OS X 10.5.3; Recommended for all Leopard users

apple.jpegIt’s finally here, Apple has released the much anticipated Mac OS X 10.5.3 update. Developers have been working on this update for about two months. Many people including myself weren’t expecting this to be released until after the WWDC 2008.

Mac OS X 10.5.3 is recommended for users of Mac OS X 10.5, 10.5.1, and 10.5.2 (Leopard.) Logging onto the support page you will notice it is a hefty download. According to the Apple support page the download size will vary from computer to computer.

Not only did Apple roll out the release earlier than anticipated they also provided extensive details about the upgrades involved. Apple, much too many Mac users annoyance, is notorious for not revealing too much information about the updates on its software update pages. Seeing detailed information about the fixes is a pleasant surprise.

Mac OS X 10.5.3 includes the standard fixes that will enhance the stability and security of your Mac also certain applications have been updated. Those that have been updated are Address Book, Airport, Automator, iCal, iChat, Mail, Parental Control, Spaces, Time Machine, and Voice Over.

If you haven’t been consistent with software updates for your Mac computer you might have to install other updates before you are able to install Mac OS X 10.5.3. Checking to see whether your system is up-to-date is simple, simply click on the Apple menu (Apple icon at in the top left hand corner of your screen), select Software Update. Software Update will check to see if your system is current. If needed download the necessary updates then download Mac OS X 10.5.3.
