The potential success of a product can often be measured by the amount of buzz it receives before its launch. It can also be measured in pre-sales metrics. How many people pre-order an item or sign up to be notified when an item is ready for purchase is an example of a pre-sales metric. Apple’s iPhone 3G pre-sales metrics and buzz levels are off the charts.

An iMac in every room and now iPhone integration in cars? Apple has definitely made an impression, and its products are becoming products that consumers just have to have. Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to launch a device that places the device into the center console.

Mac users often suffer at the hands of Microsoft’s lackadaisical approach to Mac-centric software production and the ones affected most are often the Microsoft Office for Mac 2008 users. With its staffing increase for the Microsoft Mac Business Division and the release of an upgrade for the Office for Mac software, Microsoft seems to be finally turning that around, at least on the surface.

In what is reported to be the largest single staff increase in Microsoft history for its Mac products division, Microsoft has gone a Mac hiring spree. The Mac Business Unit at Microsoft has been around for eleven years now, and according to its General Manager, Craig Eisler the company is “launching our biggest hiring initiative since the inception of MacBU.”

iTunes Australia users discovered a nice surprise when they logged onto iTunes this morning. TV shows are now available for download. Although there hasn’t been, an official word from Apple iTunes users are now able to download and purchase TV shows by logging onto the Apple iTunes store.

Safari for Windows recently got a much needed Windows XP and Vista version update that solved a vast array of issues plaguing Windows users. One of the biggest was a desktop attack vulnerability called a carpet bomb. This put users at risk got attack through Safari and the desktop.

Apple retail stores have been sprouting up all over the globe. Opening day is a special event and attracts thousands of avid Apple users to the store. Such was the case when the first retail store opened in Sydney, Australia on June 19, 2008. The place was packed.
