Presidential top list: What’s on Barrack Obama’s iPod?
By Opal Tribble
Did you know that the extremely popular iPod is a favorite of Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama? Bruce Springsteen, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Jay-Z, Ludacris are just a sample of some the artists that make an appearance on his iPod.
In a Rolling Stone interview, which is on available now, Obama describes his musical taste as eclectic. Growing up in the 1970’s he listened to a wide range of artists from Earth Wind and Fire, Elton John, Rolling Stones, and Stevie Wonder (who he said was his musical hero.)
Bob Dylan is one of Apple CEO Steve Jobs favorite artist and he happens to be a favorite of Obama as well. Dylan, has received a lot of airplay on Obama’s iPod this political season. One of his favorite songs is Maggie’s Farm Obama said “It speaks to me as I listen to some of the political rhetoric.” In the song, Dylan sings about trying be himself, “but everybody wants you to be just like them.”
You can find all types of music on Obama’s iPod. His musical taste is just as diverse as mine. It’s obvious that Obama uses an iPod but is he a Mac or a PC? Recently, his wife bought two MacBook laptops one for the kids and one for Barack so they could have video chats over the internet. Obama’s campaign also uses Sproutit Mailroom (a Mac application) to manage Obama’s presidential campaign.
Rolling Stone magazine endorsed Obama in March 2008.
