Some of us might also know a few that bring along their tech devices like Xbox 360’s, computers, and iPods. How many of you know that iPods are used to assist soldiers in the line of duty? Macs come preloaded with some very powerful software. Sadly, a great blogging client isn’t on the list. Sure, you can technically blog with Apple’s iWeb, but you have to have iDisk space to do it efficiently (formerly available via .Mac, now MobileMe). Many bloggers don’t want to be shackled to the Mac system like that.

Glitch in system causes pre-written Jobs obituary to be sent out prematurely

It is common practice to pre-write the obituaries of celebrities. By having their job history, details of surviving family members and information about a lifetime of achievements pre written it makes it much easier to get the obituary out on time in the event of their death. Morbid, to be sure, but a necessary evil in the news business.

NetNewsWire rolls out a software update; NetNewsWire 3.1.7b7/1237

netnewswire.pngWhile I was working on my 17″ MacBook Pro yesterday I noticed that NetNewsWire had released a software update. I wasn’t expecting one so quickly since it had been updated last week. When users log onto NetNewsWire they are asked whether they would like to update their version to NetNewsWire 3.1.7b7/1237. Unlike the update that was rolled out last week, you won’t see too many changes within this update. According to the notes included with the install, the changes include an updated French localization from Corentin has been added.

Mac users who like to get their gaming fix without resorting to Bootcamp, Parallels, or a Windows computer are able to get their game on (with their Mac) when playing games created by Blizzard. It’s true World of Warcraft, Diablo, or Stracraft are all Mac compatible.

Apple may announce new iPods and MacBooks in September It’s that time of the year again, kids are heading back to school or college and the Apple rumor mill is in full swing.  Nothing is certain at this point but given the history of the company, it may announce some new products in just over a weeks time.

Intel Developer Forum acting as foreshadowing for new Macs

If you were paying attention, reports from the Intel Developer Forum intrigued you. With talk of future concepts requiring some advanced capability not out yet, Intel could have been foreshadowing potential Mac hardware to come. With such ideas as 3-D movies, advanced intuitive human to machine interaction, Internet based TV and other consumer electronics taking center stage in the keynote, Apple and Intel may have big plans.
