Apple may announce new iPods and MacBooks in September
By Jonathan Schlaffer
It’s that time of the year again, kids are heading back to school or college and the Apple rumor mill is in full swing. Nothing is certain at this point but given the history of the company, it may announce some new products in just over a weeks time.
It is about time for Apple to update some of its product line so here is what may be in store. According to Kevin Rose there are going to be redesigned iPod Nanos and the iPod Touch could see a minor cosmetic change and possible price reduction.
He pegs the launch date as September 9. Rumors also abound of MacBook Pro updates which has not seen a major design change in over two years. It’s time. The lowly MacBook may also see an update with the multitouch trackpad, LED display and lower $999 price point. It’s still better to buy a Pro, period.
If all these new things are in store of Apple it may explain a few things. Such as the back to school sale going on at Apple. All stores have sales for one reason or another but the only reason Apple has a sale is to clear existing stock to make room for new products. And that is the only reason Apple has a sale.
Here’s hoping that Apple will fix some of those quality control issues with the new products and actually provide service should they fail or break during the warranty period. You know, instead of remaining completely silent or not acknowledging the problem until it is far too late.
Is anyone out there almost hoping that Apple doesn’t release new products. So we don’t have to go over there and spend two months pay just to get the latest and greatest? I’m not the only one that does that, am I? Am I?

Hey, I could read AppleInsider and post a summary on a blog, too.
