BareBones software releases BBEdit 9.0; HTML and text editor for Mac users
BareBones software has updated its extremely popular HTML and text editor. Mac users are now able to purchase (or upgrade to) BBEdit 9.0. Included in the update are a host of new html and text editing goodies that are bound to make your web design and writing a lot easier.

What can Mac users expect to see with this massive update? BBEdit 9.0 if you use rely on HTML you’ll be pleased with all that HTML goodies that have been added to the already impressive list. The new features will assist you in continually creating fabulous websites. A few of the BBEdit goodies that users will see are Projects, having the ability to edit within browsers, non-modal Find and Multi-File Search windows, Scratchpad, and text completion.
In addition, BBEdit can also be used with MobileMe. Yes, we know that MobileMe has gotten off to a rocky start and Apple still has to make a lot of improvements before I give MobileMe a “must buy” software but I’m pleased with the integration. BBEdit users who also have a MobileMe account will be able to keep their BBEdit preferences along with your Application support folder synchronized across all your machines. This is definitely good news for myself. I currently have a MacBook Pro, MacPro, PowerMac G5, and a HP dv6000t. I like the fact I will be able to preserve my text factories, clippings, and more on all my computers.
Need a text editor? BBEdit has you covered. BBEdit 9.0 not only reads files it can write files compressed with bz2. It will show as a new document statistic that will show the number of characters, words, along with lines in each text view status bar. This is a feature I use often when writing an article and I’m happy that I don’t have to use another application to receive this information.
BBEdit is a powerful HTML and text editor exclusively for Macintosh computers. It’s received awards and provided the Mac users with a full range of tools that can be used for web design and text editing. Apple Script, FTP and SFTP open and save, text and code completion, and HTML tools are just a few of the features that can be found in BBBEdit 9.0.
If you are a Mac user who relies on HTML for your work check out BBEdit. Their slogan is “It doesn’t suck!” I’ve been using BBEdit for several months, and I’ve been happy with the software. If you want to purchase a copy expect to pay the suggested retail price of $125 however, you do have a chance to try out a fully functional copy for 30 days before you make the purchase. That’s what I did before I made the purchase. I was so impressed with its capabilities that I purchased the application. If you already use BBEdit the price is $30. Log onto their website, try BBEdit for free, purchase, and enjoy BBEdit 9.0.
