Alien Abduction – A tribute to the classic arcade shooter game Defender and inspired by Mutant Storm, this game is a sure hit with shoot-em-up game fans. It features three game modes – points battle, time attack and sharp shooter. The game offers 30 levels, three missions, two-player action, powerups, unlockable goodies and addictive gameplay.

Angband ““ This game lets you explore deep dungeons, fight monsters, and acquire weapons for your final confrontation against the game’s boos – Morgoth, the Lord of Darkness. It features three game modes, 30 levels spread over three missions, two player action, powerups, tactical depth, unlockable items, and more importantly addictive gameplay.

Argonaut – Who wouldn’t want to play the classic asteroids game on the Mac? This game offers the same excitement of blasting asteroids through your Argo spacecraft firing missiles, bombs, and other such weaponry.

Armagetron ““ This is a multiplayer, old school arcade game set in 3D arena reminiscent of Tron. It features a customizable playing arena, great graphics and AI bots.

Armand and the Foppish Hat ““ This short adventure game was patterned after the classic ZELDA games. The game is about a swashbuckler named Armand in his quest to track down the thief who stole his hat.

Battle for Wesnoth ““ This is a turn-based fantasy strategy game, which lets you build armies of humans, elves, orcs, trolls, dwarves and other races. It features various adventures and an overall game mission to reclaim the throne of Wesnoth.

Bullfrog – You play a bullfrog trying to save your home, which was infested by bugs. How do you this task? By eating them of course. The game features that addictive classic arcade gameplay, six unique bugs, unlimited rounds, and laptop friendly controls.

BZFlag ““ This is an online multiplayer cross-platform 3D tank battle game.

Chopper ““ This is a side-scrolling helicopter game featuring 72 missions and three difficulty levels. The game features beautiful landscapes, realistic weather and impressive explosions.

Crack Attack – Another Tetris-inspired game, this version for the Mac features sound, full-screen mode, some native Cocoa interfaces, one or two players, and automatic version checks.

Enigma ““ This puzzle game has you uncover pairs of identically colored Oxyd stones amidst hidden traps, vast mazes, and laser beams.

Foobillard – Although originally developed for the Linux platform, this game is equally stunning on Mac’s OS X. It features realistic physics, AI players, and various game types including pool, snooker, and more.

Freeciv – This is a free and open source empire-building strategy game, which is obviously inspired by Civilization. The game sets you on a quest to lead your tribe from the prehistoric ages to the space age. Sounds cool, right?

Frozen Bubble – This is the classic bubble game ported for the Mac OS X.

Glider Pro – This game is one of the most popular pre-OS X games. It combines the elements of puzzle and strategy games as you fly your paper airplane through a house, trying to avoid candles, and air drifts.

LinCity-NG ““ This is a city simulation game and an improved version of the earlier classic LinCity game. This game features a new ISO-3D graphics engine and a completely redone and modern GUI.

Lugaroo ““ Featuring a unique combat system, Lugaroo is a third-person action game in which you play a rebel bunny rabbit on a quest to fight the corrupt leader of Rabbit Republic and so on. Lugaru’s moves are basically logical and context sensitive.

Ogame ““ This is a strategic space simulation game featuring thousands of players worldwide competing online.

Oolite ““ This is a pretty straight-forward space simulation game inspired by Elite, and powered by Objective-C and OpenG. This simple game is easy to pick up, modify and expand upon. It’s a space simulation game featuring a retro feel and modern technology. You can fly from one planet to another, buy and sell goods, shoot pirates or be the pirate yourself.

Oops! – This classic board game of skill, cunning and regret pits you against three computer opponents or up to three people via network play. It built-in multiplayer chat, and a customizable taunting mechanism.

OpenLieroX – Based on the famous LieroX 2D shooter game, this unofficial sequel features online play, customizable weapons, levels and characters. Solitaire XL ““ This is a 3D version of classic solitaire featuring online high score list, customizable card backs, and two undo modes.

SuperTuxKart ““ You have to love a 3D kart racing game. You can race up to four players on the same computer. The game features 12 tracks including races under water, on the beach, in space and more.

Ultimate Othello – Looking for a board game for you Mac? This is the Ultimate Othello game. It features two game variations: MacIago and Reversi Unlimited.

Water Tower 3D – This is a platform game inspired by classic games such as Lode Runner and Super Mario Bros. You’ll guide the character through difficult levels while in a race against the rising water. The game features 32 levels and a full-featured level editor.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory ““ This is a stand-along WWII-inspired multiplayer game that features support for up to 64 players. The object of the game is to wage war the as Axis or Allies in team-based combat. Cooperation is a key to conquering this game.

Yoink ““ You leap from tall buildings to crush robots beneath your feet. Using your extraterrestrial powers, you must conquer the alien invaders.

    I used to enjoy all kinds of computer games and tried a lot of them. Of course due to my talent to get bored very quickly I never finished them. So, after a while instead of playing them I started to keep myself informed on news, latest games publishings and all the stuff related to games. Now I can find all the games news and reviews on PC

    Hi, before my iMac I played at a free backgammon site called TrueMoneyGames. The download works with an .exe file, so it seems my career at tmg is over?! Does anybody know if there is a workaround or whatever??? Tx

    what about Minions Of Mirth? its better than planeshift and ranks among WoW. its awesome! the free version allows you to play in as one of the fellowship of light and be a monster, while the full version allows access to the realm of darkness characters and more monster templates! best of all, it doesn’t require internet access to play! just build up your character offline and then connect when your ready and play with the top ranking players! i love this game and i hope many more people will play the game and learn how awesome it is!

    This is a great collection of free Mac Games for apple macintosh. Users like me now have an easy to access list, all in page only. Though there are some that has an error on links, like page cannot be found or it leads me to other page, a lot of these has been very great!
