Mac users think they are invulnerable to viruses and spyware. While Windows based malware may pass up a Mac there are threats to OSX out there. Although the most recent one may have been overblown in proportion that’s no reason to not have protection.

Judging by the company’s corporate image, you might imagine working for Apple is a pretty laid-back experience, free from the stifling rulebooks of most major organizations. That may not be the case, but it’s emerged that the company’s policy on storing e-mails is a little too relaxed for some lawyers.

Rumor has it that iTunes may soon offer music for all four of the major record labels without copy protection. At the moment only EMI tracks are available without Digital Rights Management.

The average user is not that smart. Judging by some comments from various Web sites and feature requests for the iPhone this is clearly evident. In a smaller capacity, this applies to the iPod Touch (at times).

The company behind many popular Facebook-based games has found a creative way to harness the iPhone’s accelerometer. ‘iFun’ will allow users to play computer games using either the iPhone or the iPod touch as a handheld controller in the style of the Nintendo Wii.

Upstart Florida-based Mac clone maker has until Dec 8 to amend their claim, but the wording of the preliminary ruling from the bench indicates their chances are looking slim nevertheless. In fact, the words “road kill” come to mind.

IBM’s legal action to block a former exec taking up a position with Apple has become a high stakes game. Not only is Mark Papermaster countersuing IBM, but the judge in the original case has ordered the firm to pay a $3 million deposit into court.
