Axiotron’s Modbook gets nVidia graphics boost
A third-party, entry-level Mac tablet has inherited the 5X graphics performance boost of the GeFore 9400M upgrade, as well as a fast and able 1066MHz front side bus, which Apple recently added to its least expensive MacBook.
When the mothership announced the addition of nVidia’s well regarded GeForce 9400 chipset to the $999 plastic enclosure portable, users and pundits praised the move. Now, Axiotron has announced that the same improved internals grace the company’s entry level Modbook—the company’s award-winning Mac tablet solution.

“This change in the base system architecture provides a significant enhancement to the Modbook’s graphics processing power, including the ability to offer Quickflip to our customers,” said Axiotron CEO Andreas E Haas. “Based on our tests, the Modbook’s ability to render images in graphics-intensive applications is markedly improved, so creative professionals and general users should find it to be a big leap forward for the Modbook.”
The ModBook and ModBook Pro are available exclusively in the US from Other World Computing from $1,249.
