Say Obama, Google, Hulu, Apple, Cisco three times fast
As the world’s national economies, large and small alike, swirl poetically down the toilet, like so many doomed synchronized swimmers, people are looking around and asking who if anyone can turn this mess around. Well, it is perhaps best to first ask who is still innovating, churning out products that solve problems that we know and especially the ones that weren’t apparent until the solution arrived.
Fast Company doesn’t have any absolute answers, but they have put together a rather convincing enumeration of companies that might have the right stuff—The Fast Company 50, a listing of the world’s most innovative firms.
“From politics to technology, energy, and transportation; from marketing to retail, health care, and design, each company on the following pages illustrates the power and potential of innovative ideas and creative execution. These are the kinds of enterprises that will redefine our future and point the way to a better tomorrow.”—Fast Company
Team Obama as the most innovative “company” in the world? Hmm, I am a fan and here’s hoping that Barrack et al make believers of us all.
And, yes, it is cool that Apple ranks number four on Fast Company’s overall list, but it is worth mentioning that our favorite fruit company tops the The Most Innovative Companies in Consumer Electronics breakout with Pure Digital Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, Nokia and Nintendo rounding out the Top 5.
So, does team Obama, Google, Hulu, Apple, Cisco have the juice needed to pull us out of this mess, or do we need another kind of secret sauce?
