Trend Micro Smart Surfing now available for Mac

April 23, 2009

It’s probably no accident that this product arrives about a week after security researchers at Symantec announced they had discovered the first ever zombie network of Macintosh computers. Unfortunately, this product won’t protect users who download illegal warez via peer to peer networks.

Taiwanese antivirus software maker Trend Micro has announced (via MacTech) the immediately availability of Smart Surfing, which is billed a product to help Mac users safely surf the Web using any browser and confidently click on links in emails and IM messages.

“Internet users need online protection regardless of the OS platform,” said Carol Carpenter, vice president of consumer marketing. “Our goal is to give consumers powerful, easy-to-use security so they can confidently surf the Internet, both on Mac and Windows.”
