Apple [again] tops European education market
Good news for Apple from Europe. The continent, and United Kingdom in particular, continues to positively color the story of Apple’s performance in the recession.
In the first quarter of this year, Apple pushed its way into the U.K. Top 5. Today, quoting Gartner Research data, Distorted-Loop writes that was only the beginning of the story as the Mac maker also found itself atop not only the U.K. education market, but also the European education market.
Apple extended its hold on the number one computer spot in the Western Europe education market in the first quarter of 2009 with 26.4 percent [19.2 percent, August 2008] of the market. Further, our favorite fruit company also maintained its position in the U.K. market, where the company is also number one computer manufacturer for education with 27.3 percent [17.3 percent, August 2008].
According to Distorted-Loop, Apple retook the European education crown from Dell back in 2006, though their share at that time was just 15.2 percent.
