Jobs may have flown to Memphis, purchased mansion
Now that people know where to look, they are uncovering traces of the Apple CEO’s activities in recent months, which is another way of saying our individual and collective obsessions with the tech tycoon have found a new and bizarre focus.
Early Saturday, Blorge brought you the news that Steve Jobs had been to Tennessee for a liver transplant. Why the Volunteer State? Because it has perhaps the most liberal laws regarding transplants and thereby the shortest waiting times to get one.
Over the weekend, CNBC and Forbes have added to this story (via Cult of Mac) by discovering what may turn out to be a pair of smoking guns—Steve Jobs’ jet was in Memphis, Tennessee in late March and it is believed that the iCEO is believed to have purchased a large home complete with a security guard and cameras a short distance from a noted liver transplant clinic.

Firstly, although Apple CEO’s jet is difficult to track because the FAA has been blocked from officially tracking his jet’s flights—a common request made by celebrities and the otherwise famous—Jobs’ plane was spotted in Memphis in the relevant timeframe—about two months. However, the Realtor that sold the home says even if Jobs were the buyer, she couldn’t tell us. Further, a representative of the nearest transplant clinic (apparently there’s more than one), said her institution has never treated Steve Jobs.
Also, a reporter from the Memphis Flyer swung by and had a look at the latest purported addition to Jobs’ real estate portfolio—he said it looks empty. Given that Apple’s CEO is expected back at work any day now, that should come as little surprise.
Whatever’s actually happened, I sincerely hope Jobs and/or Apple will put out a press release covering and closing this subject once and for all…
What’s your take?

Although I like Tennessee, Memphis is a dive. He would need more then one security guard in front of that house if he has one there. Memphis is just an awful city.
